When someone comes to us and asks to look at diamonds, our first questions will be “What is most important to YOU?”. Since each person is different and each diamond appeals to different people, there IS a perfect diamond for each of us. Other web sites will tell you that you have to buy a very high color (colorless) diamond, “ideal” cut, VVS clarity and a lot of other very narrow views on what a beautiful diamond is. This is simply not true. These will be very expensive diamonds, for sure, but it’s not necessary to spend a lot to get a beautiful diamond. In fact, you can spend a lot for a high grade diamond and may not get a bright stone. Diamonds really must be viewed in person for you to determine what the perfect diamond will be for YOU. We’re not saying, not to buy a high grade, highly symmetrical stone, just remember, it’s the interrelationship of the facets that make it beautiful not specific angles and percentages.
Devices like the Brilliance Scope, and others, have proven that there is no direct correlation between light return (brilliance) and the outdated beliefs on “ideal” proportions and symmetry. In fact, GIA has now proven there are many variations beyond the “ideal” cut that are very beautiful and bright and they are now basing their new cut grades to reflect all related parameters. Even with this new evaluation, seeing them in person is still the best way to choose a diamond, since there are factors that can affect the beauty without being indicated on the papers. Things like “milky” appearances can make the stone look dirty. They can be a high grade and incredibly well cut and have this problem. We always look for a clean “crisp” diamond whenever we are showing some.
When you shop with us, whether you decide to come in a see them yourself, or you ask us to pick for you, always remember that the diamond you get will WOW everyone who sees it. We are counting on the referrals you send us! |
